All our trips are custom designed adventures. Here is an example of a winter itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival
Private airport transfer to your hotel in Reykjavik
Easy day in Reykjavik, the most northern capitol in the world.
Accommodation: Hotel Canopy by Hilton

Day 2: Golden Circle + Glacier
The Golden Circle tour is the most popular tour for first time visitors in Iceland and also includes Geysers, Gullfoss waterfall and Langjokull Glacier. Þingvellir National Park is where the oldest parliament in world was founded and one of the best places in the world to see the tectonic plates boundaries. At Geysir or Gullfoss we stop for lunch. Seeing the geyser Strokkur spout boiling water 25-30 m high in the air is fantastic nature experience and the Geysir area has numerous other hot springs. After seeing Iceland’s most famous waterfall, Gullfoss up close and listening to its roaring thunder as it cascades 32 metres down the mighty glacial river Hvita we drive a mountain track to Iceland’s second largest glacier, Langjokull, where we actually drive on the ice cap – where our big tires on the super-jeep come in good use.
The hotel is in the southern countryside of Iceland, it’s small charming family run with good food and is a good location for seeing the auroras – if weather is good.
Optional activity: Snowmobile tour
Accommodation: Hotel Lækur

Day 3: South Shore & Katla Ice Cave
We head east along the south shore to explore the magnificent south coast of Iceland, with glaciers on one side and the black sand beach on the other side as well as two great waterfalls; Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. After lunch in Vík we go off-road inland towards Icleand’s fourth largest ice cap, Mýrdalsjökull where we explore an ice cave.
After the glacier adventure we head a bit further east to our countryside hotel, Laki – which is also well located to see the Norhtern Lights (depending on cloud cover of course)
Activity: Ice cave tour
Accommodation: Hotel Laki

Day 4: Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon & Diamond Beach
Again we travel east but a bit further this time, to Vatnajokull, the largest glacier in Europe and we will stop at Jokulsarlon (Glacial Lagoon), one of Iceland’s most spectacular destinations. Nearby is a black sand beach with crystal clear ice stranded on the beach and is therefore called ‘Diamond Beach’. From Jökulsárlón we go to the edge of the glacier to explore another ice cave before we start heading back west. If time allows, we also visit Skaftafell national park which is renowned for its beauty and Svartifoss (‘Black waterfall’) which runs from a black basalt rock as well as Svinafellsjökull glacier where Game of Thrones and Batman Begins where partly filmed.
Activity: Ice cave tour
Accommodation: Hotel Laki

Day 5: South Shore & Lunar Landscape of Reykjanes
On the way back we will see the largest lava flow that has flowed on Earth in historical times; Eldhraun and perhaps enjoy a good hike along the beautiful canyon Fjaðrárgljúfur.
Instead of going back to Reykjavik, we drive through the lunar landscape of Reykjanes peninsula – and if the eruption in Fagradalsfjall is still ongoing, we can perhaps get a glimpse of the glowing magma. If not, we can explore the geothermal areas of Seltún in Krýsuvík and Gunnuhver, secluded mt. lake Kleifarvatn and the continental divide.
We end the tour at the airport so you can sleep a bit longer
Optional activity: Glacier Hike
Accommodation: Hotel by KEF airport
